This book is the second volume of an organizational examination of North Carolina’s Confederate hospitals and why they existed. This continues Wade Sokolosky’s pivotal work examining the operations of North Carolina’s military hospitals during the American Civil War. This volume covers the last two years of the war.
Colonel (Ret.) Wade Sokolosky is a graduate of East Carolina University and a 25-year veteran of the U.S. Army. Wade is the co-author (with Mark A. Smith) of “To Prepare for Sherman’s Coming”: The Battle of Wise’s Forks, March 1865, and author of North Carolina’s Confederate Hospitals, 2 vols., and Final Roll Call: Confederate Losses during the Carolinas Campaign.

I would like to contact Col. Wade Sokolosky by email. Due to the vast resources explored in the writing of his book, North Carolina’s Confederate Hospitals, Vol. 2, I have questions about his knowledge on where the Confederates who died at the hospitals were interred. Specifically from Charlotte’s General Hospital No. 11. In my genealogy research on an ancestor, I would like to find any information I can to include in my family tree the narrative I am writing for future generations. Thank you?
